Mobile applications in the future are neither about games, nor communications, but will be the front-end interaction of relational processing applications.Most applications software that we have today is based on transactional processing, but what the customers have problems with and the jobs which have been rarely done and has no solution yet is the relational processing system.

Citing a company which has a factory as an example that comprises marketing, sales support, logistics, billing finance, after-sales support, production, etc, which have different jobs to serve the same customer, these functions have been working in silos. However, the relational processing applications can close the gap, with a small charge.Relational-based jobs are comprised of the components of form-based design, business process design, workflow design, rule-based engine and enterprise content management (ECM). These all are open source engines that are available for software developers. Combined with cloud service, this software should be cheaper and more versatile, which should raise more interest and this will make it more convenient for users.

He stated that virtualisation is an old thing and cloud computing mostly uses virtualisation technology, the Internet is not new, but when they have been blended, we called it cloud computing.software developers should view cloud computing as a business model, the type that they can bring technology to do business, and think about how to make it useful for the parties involved in terms of business.

Cloud computing is forecast to be the number one technology of Gartner's top 10 trends in 2010 and also 2011, that means it must be really important.Process-as-a-service which is a model of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), it beginning to be talked about more and more, this is the most exciting development and it is likely to lead to the change in software design.

Cloud computing can cut energy consumption for the firm

Businesses can cut their energy consumption by 91% by moving their on-premises applications to the cloud, research by US analyst firm Nucleus Research reveals.The firm reached its conclusion after comparing the energy consumed by customers of Salesforce.com with the energy consumption of equivalent applications run in-house.
Salesforce.com customers saved the energy equivalent of 11 barrels of oil every hour, the study concludes. Businesses that move other applications into the cloud, could make similar savings.

Cloud computing suppliers can get better deals on hardware, optimise their applications for the cloud, and load-balance so customers can gain access to computing power only when they need it.
For organisations with a green IT mission, simply moving to cloud computing provides both a financial return and a tangible environmental benefit,
Businesses need to identify what applications are best suited to the cloud, if they want to cut energy costs. Its best to avoid putting applications that have had a lot of customisation into the cloud.Those applications that are frequently used by a lot of users, those where you need remote or distributed access, those where you need a lot of flexibility to make changes, are likely to be candidates that generate green and economic benefits.

Cloud computing's latest battlefield: India

Earlier this year Microsoft and HP got into a strategic partnership to provide businesses with end-to-end cloud computing solutions. The motto is that India’s Small and Medium Business segment will be able to leverage this partnership. HP with their enterprise hardware expertise and Microsoft’s software solutions combined make quite a compelling offer.

As a key player in the IT field, India is poised to be a Billion Dollar market in the next 5 years according to a study by an IT infrastructure firm. The study claims that this growth will be driven by the rapid increase in data such as text and media moving online. Some numbers shared in the study are quite interesting, it is expected that information stored online will reach a staggering 2.3 million petabytes (from 40,000 petabytes.)

Rapid development in cloud computing might enable Indian firms to find some solution to tackle the growing debate on outsourcing. Infosys sees an opportunity here. Raghavan Subramanian, in charge of the Infosys Center of Excellence for cloud computing says using the new architecture there can be considerable cost saving provided the implementations are done right. Infosys has dedicated around 250 individuals from their BPO team and about 175 engineers to come up with solutions for better customer relations management and other organizational departments where cloud computing can help improve efficiency.
India’s top IT firms, Infosys, TCS, Wipro and Tech Mahindra have cloud projects to their names. The competition is fierce as the market is nascent and big international names like Microsoft, IBM have dedicated resources as well. Support from the government to get basic infrastructure (cheaper and faster Internet) in place will go a long way in ensuring India’s IT prominence.
